Harris Bay Yacht Club, Lake George, NY
The Challenge
Harris Bay Yacht Club is one of the busiest marinas on Lake George, with over 400 members and 271 slips in constant demand. By 2022, its timber docks from 1983 had become a maintenance headache. Weathered timber may suit a hiking trail, but it has no place in a prestigious marina with boats of this caliber. The task was to replace the entire system without interrupting member access and deliver a facility ready for decades of service.
The Solution
Marina Technologies rebuilt the entire facility using its S-190 aluminum floating dock system. Designed with composite decking, adjustable cleats, and top-access utility troughs, the docks offer strength without the upkeep. With no wood anywhere, the system resists storms, ice, and heavy seasonal use while keeping maintenance to a minimum. Installation was phased to keep the club operational throughout. A full rebuild so seamless, most members only noticed the view got better.
The Results
The project replaced all 271 slips and gave Harris Bay a state-of-the-art facility completed in a single season. Members now enjoy safe, durable docks that remain in the water year-round and even freeze in place without issue. The system’s clean lines and finish elevated the club’s reputation, proving that dependable infrastructure can be every bit as striking as the boats it serves.
